Pickleball Court Size & Dimensions
Dimensions:
The pickleball court measures 6.1 meters wide and 13.4 meters long, the same dimensions as a badminton court. The net should be 0.91 meters high at the posts and 0.88 meters in the middle.
Non-volley Zone (NVZ):
The NVZ, located near the net, extends 2.4 meters from the net on each side. Known as "the kitchen," this area prohibits players from hitting the ball without it first bouncing on their side of the court.
Surfaces for Pickleball Courts
Hard Court:
Many pickleball courts feature asphalt or similar hard court surfaces, providing a smooth and fast-playing area. Asphalt also ensures predictable bounces, which are crucial for precision play.
Artificial grass:
Some courts use artificial grass, offering a softer surface that reduces stress on players' joints. While the ball's bounce is less ideal, this surface is perfect for those who prefer cushioning for knees and joints.
